Welcome aboard the double scoop group!  This page has been put together for the great group of DIS'ers who will be sailing on the beautiful Disney Magic in May 2006.  We've got a lot planned and I thought this would be a great place to keep all the information in one place.  If you have anything you would like to add please contact me at marygums@monorailgreen.info

Friday Night DIS Meet

A group of us will be getting together Friday night at JB's Fish Camp in New Smryna Beach.  Click here to get directions and maps.  We'll be meeting at 4 pm. 

On board DIS Meet

This will be held Saturday, May 27th at 3:00 pm Eastern time.  Location will be deck 10 mid-ship (this is above the Goofy pool).  We will meet on the side by the port (not to be confused with port side).  3 pm is a great time to meet since everyone should be on board by that time and have had time for lunch etc.  Look for the sign below.  We will meet/greet for a half hour or so.  We'll pass out buttons to everyone (see below) and have a good time.  Then we'll all break for the safety drill.  After the drill meet back up on deck 10 (or for those of you who want to party right in the action deck 9) for Sailaway! Then we'll really get the party started!

Wine

Jim (Scuba Diver) has again arranged for a private label wine for the group.  Cost is $20 per bottle.

Buttons

This is something Mark and I like to do for every cruise group.  We are now collecting names for the buttons (as well as the mini-navigators - please see below).  If you want buttons for you and your family please send me (Mary aka WDWLVR) a pm with your info.  If all the info is correct in the gallery below and you just want me to pick it up from there please let me know.

 These will be passed out at the DIS meet at 3pm (or earlier if we see you in the terminal).  Why do we do this?  Well for one it helps us remember who people are.  Second Mark doesn't have the best hearing in the world so seeing a name written out helps him in introductions.  Third and most importantly it is a way to recognize other DISers on the ship.  The buttons are free, we just ask that you wear them as much as possible during the cruise (of course you get an exemption in the pool and on formal night). Here is the design Mark did for the buttons.

Cut-off date has passed - we are no longer accepting orders for buttons.  Sorry!

Mini-Navigators

Back by popular demand will be the mini-navigator.  This is a listing of all the DISers including room numbers.  Also listed will be any planned events like the 3pm DIS meet.  If you want to be included let me know via pm (along with your button info if you want).  Any questions just ask.

There will be one navigator in everyone's packet (along with your buttons and magnet).  This is only for those who want one early.

T-shirts

The group is looking at having custom t-shirts made.   Maria (aka TiggerInNY) is our go-to person for the t-shirts.  She has been working with Pam to have them done at the same place as the bags.  Here are the designs we have come up with:

Bags

Pam (BWVPam) has found a supplier for these great excursion bags.  Here is a description:
Insulated drawstring backpack, w/cooler, foam padded, leakproof, sandwich compartment, top drawstring, mesh main compartment, w/backpack straps.  Shown below is a picture of the bag and what the logo would look like on it.  Note - we changed the color on one of the cones to look better against the red background.

Linked dinner reservations

Those of us who have sailed together before have found the joy of linking dinner reservations.  What this means is that you and your family can spend dinner time with your fellow DIS'ers.  No we won't all be at one table, but we can all be together in the same location.  Contacts are:

PM these ladies on the DIS with the full names of everyone in your party, your cabin number and later you may be asked for your reservation number.  Let them know if you want to be at a table with other DISers or if your family wants their own table but right near the others. 

Scoopie

This is Scoopie and he is our cruise mascot.  Scoopie is traveling around the country visiting his fellow cruisers.  He even has his own travel agent - Maggie (with help from her mom Monica).  Scoopie also has his own website.  To get to it just click his picture above.

Pre-Cruise DIS Meets

Picking up where she left off with the 12/18/04 cruise Stacey (justmestace)
is the DIS goodwill ambassador of meeting people.

6/12/05 Pre-Cruise meet held at Amishland in Tuscola, IL.  Mark and I were on our way home from a family wedding in TN and were trilled to be able to meet with Sandi (whnim64), her DH Larry and DS Caleb.  Caleb brought Teddy and we brought Bear!  We had a wonderful lunch and it was great to be able to meet before cruising next year.

By the way - Amishland must have a Disney lover on the staff (pardon the lamp in front as this was taken at the carving station. 

6/18/05 Pre-cruise meet at WDW.  Pictured L to R: Scuba Mom (Sharon), Scuba Diver (Jim), Little Gymnast (Lisa), WDWLVR (Mary), MarkRG (Mark).  This was also a post cruise meet as we had sailed together on the 12/18/04 10 day cruise.  It can also be considered a pre-pre-cruise meet as we talked about sailing to Alaska in 2007!

6/23/05 Pre-cruise meet at WDW.  This is a pre-cruise meet for two cruises as Grandma Lightbulb (Mary in the center) and her DH Butch will be sailing on the 9/4/05 DVC Member Cruise with us as well as on the 5/27/06 Double Scoop Cruise!
